Cool South Korean Armadillo-T Electric Foldable Car
The awesome Armadillo-T is brand new car which folds up so that its user can park his car in a very small parking space. Another awesome feature of the car is that the foldable mini-car is fully electric, so it’s also eco friendly. Find out more about it right here.
If you are having a hard time finding a parking space, then this is the car for you. It is small, and it makes itself even smaller! The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) thought about all of us who are cramped up in the cities and designed this astonishing prototype electric car which will rid us of the horrific waste of time while looking for a parking space.
The car wasn’t named Armadillo for nothing… its designers took their inspiration from the little animal who hides itself in a super ‘armor’ shell to avoid perils.
Now, if you are looking for speed, you best look somewhere else cause this little critter will only reach a top speed of 37 miles per hour, and after you charge its lithium ion battery for just 10 minutes, you will be able to drive the foldable car for 62 miles.
Ok, so we’ve cleared how fast it is, how super eco-friendly it is, but how does it fold? Well, all you will need for this car to fold is a smartphone. After you finished parking it, the car is ready to convert into its folded position. The length goes from 110 inches down to 65 inches, and all you have to do is press a button (or a touchscreen) on your smartphone aplication. To save up even more space, the side and rear-view mirrors are replaced by cameras.
How much does the Armadillo-T foldable car cost?
Even though it is just a prototype, the car will be sold for under 1000 pounds when it goes into production. This little environmentally friendly electric car seems to be an awesome solution for driving in the city, and we here at CoolWeirdo, can’t wait till it comes out. We’d only wish they would improve its speed, it would sure be a downer to get anywhere if you’re in a hurry, and driving at armadillo speed.
