Nickolas Coke No Brain Baby Dies At the Age of 3 Years

Sadly, Nickolas Coke died at the tender age of 3 after what doctors and the entire world call a miracle life! Nickolas Coke was born without a brain, a condition called anencephaly and despite the fact that, normally he should’ve died only hours after birth, he defied all odds and lived to be 3 years old. Nickolas Coke was born with just a brain stem and normally, children born with anencephaly , the condition Nick suffered from, only live just a few hors after birth, in the fortunate event that they are not still born. Well, to all of the medical reports and documentation, Nickolas Coke is proof that miracles do exist and up until recently, we could’ve said that he is living proof, but sadly, on October 31st, 2012 at the age of 3.

Nickolas Coke was born just a few days before Christmas in 2009 and he has been a blessing on his family ever since. His grandmother declared that:

He was our hero because he showed the strength if I can do this anything can be done. He taught us everything, he taught the love, how to be family. He taught us everything

His grandma was actually the person who was with him in his dying hour. The little boy had been fighting with a virus which had affected his respiratory system. The family had already gone through such a fright a while back ago, in the winter, when Nickolas caught another virus. Luckily for them in the winter, Nickolas pulled through and gave his family more precious moments of joy and laughter.

Some of the last pictures that were taken of the baby living with no brain show him smiling on Halloween. Sherri Kohut, Nickolas’ grandmother declared that:

He was laughing because he thought it was funny that we couldn’t get him to stay still enough to roll off the pumpkins.”

As far as his last days, Sherri Kohut said that the boy had recently caught a virus and that he woke up in the morning breathing really, really bad.

Nickolas eventually stopped breathing. The doctors performed C.P.R., but after the third unsuccessful try Nickolas was declared dead.

“They told us no more, let him go. So he died at 12:40 today. Peacefully”

The entire life of Nickolas was a miracle not just for his family, but also for the entire medical world. Instead of thinking of the moment when the boy will die, Nikolas’ family focused on making his life something worth while. They took him camping, and to visit zoos… he had all of the love he could’ve had from those around him.

Despite the fact that the doctors only expected the baby to live for a few hours, Nickolas is one of the strangest babies ever born , who actually managed to live for 3 years and 11 months without being hooked up to any machines or medical aids. Living with no brain, and just a brain stem means that Nickolas could not eat on his own, nor speak or walk and he often suffered from debilitating seizures.

In fact, doctors also believe that children suffering form Anencephaly are not capable of having feelings or emotions, but the family begs to differ, Nickolas was developing emotionally, as well as physically.

Just a month before his death, Nickolas experienced the great joy of becoming a big brother. In September, Nick’s mom and dad welcomed a new baby boy, whom they also named Nickolas.
